Towse is a fairy-folk power-couple duo from California with dynamic guitar/piano, shredding fiddle and lush harmonies. Their whimsically uplifting sound blends vulnerable yet tongue-in-cheek storytelling lyrics with melodies you’ll be humming on the way home; perfect both for sipping your tea to or driving through winding mountain roads screaming the lyrics full-blast. People who like Chappell Roan, Noah Kahan, Joni Mitchell, or Fiona Apple will enjoy their show. Luke Frees & The Shadowband write songwriter-driven funky rock music. Strong melodic hooks, soaring avant saxophones, and a tight rhythm section give the band its energetic edge, while still leaving plenty of room for improvised dynamic jams that build to a catharsis. They’ve been releasing singles for the past year, preparing for a full-length album to be released in the summer of 2026. Damon Groen is a Chicago-based singer-songwriter who’s music spans from intimate and heartfelt to grand and universal. He has impressed both friends and strangers alike with his ability to translate his music to the stage, and he hopes that all who encounter him, whether in live or recorded spaces, find joy and belonging, if only for a moment.

Al Scorch's Big Fantastical Residency returns to the Hideout after a well loved 2025 run! The Return of the Big Fantastical Residency brings a wide array of musical guests from across Chicago and the country-at-large to join the show every month. Along with a set from Al Scorch and his rotating line-up of musical-wizard-friends, this run of shows features surprise guests, holiday specials, and an overall community-building musical hang. And as always, Chicago's own DJ Scrabblor spins House, R & B, Juke, Footwork, and more before and after the show. with Joseph Huber Joseph Huber hails from the state of Wisconsin, and seems to bring forth the varied voices of whatever it may be that lies dormant within either the fertile soil or the callous concrete of that world. It has been said, "You don’t just like Joseph Huber’s music. You feel it’s something that the rest of the world needs to hear, and how criminal it is that it isn’t spreading far and wide." That sentiment could be related to the fact that the voices which Huber unearths are subtle and take more than a hurried listen to truly absorb. A person who appears reserved and matter-of-fact in everyday speech brings forth songs that are anything but that. As the singer, songwriter, performer, recorder and producer of all of his own material, Huber has his hands full, but never seems to miss a beat. And his own 'solo' material has now certainly surpassed the output of his past efforts, both in volume and substance. As one of the founding member of the .357 String Band--a group that would probably fit better in today's 'Americana-saturated' environment than in the early to middle aughts--he's gradually honed a sound that seems to fill a very real gap within the still-emerging genre. Having progressed, Huber continues moving onward and upward captivating folks with his sincere and well-crafted songs under his own name along with the impeccable musicianship of his fellow touring partners. Whether it's irresistible, fiddle-driven, dancing tunes or honest, heart-wrenching "songwriter" songs, Huber's songs and shows spans the spectrum of 'Roots' music while preferring not to stay within the boundaries of any strict genre classification. & Felipe Tobar Felipe Tobar is a Chilean, classically trained violinist and composer. His solo set combines violin and looping, drawing inspiration from the landscapes of Chile, from the vast silence of the Atacama Desert to the ice and wildness of Patagonia. A longtime collaborator and friend of Al Scorch, Felipe is excited to join the Big Fantastic Residency for the first time with a special solo violin set.

Radio Outernational: Chicago's Radio Outernational blends Ethio-funk, psychedelia, and jazz grooves into a heady mix. Founded by the Eternals rhythm section of Wayne Montana, Areif Sless-Kitain and Aaron Shapiro, the quintet features a front line of flutes and saxophone from Hunter Diamond and Kenthaney Redmond. The band's debut album is coming in early 2027 from Shuga Records. with Dark Canyon: Continuing the legacy of the spaghetti west, DARK CANYON delivers haunting guitar melodies and hypnotic percussion that will transport you to a spring reverb soaked ghost town.

Chicago cosmic explorers Spiral Galaxy return with a new LP! Spiral Galaxy II is an ecstatic, deep-space voyage by flutist Sara Gossett and Plastic Crimewave on guitar/keys/machines. Expanding on their acclaimed 2020 debut album (which featured members of Faust and Acid Mother's Temple), the duo push further into long-form galactic excursions that touch on kosmische krautrock, astral folk, and grooving minimalism--for fans of Neu!, Popul Vuh, Ash Ra, Cluster, Terry Riley, and Faust. Spiral Galaxy II on Cardinal Fuzz Records (UK)/Feeding Tube Records (USA) will be physically available for the first time at this release show, and many Windy City musician superstars who played on the album will be joining Spiral Galaxy for their set, and playing their own. -Bobby Conn, who produced and played on the album, and his partner Monica BouBou (on violin textures) will headline with a special experimental sound excursion. -Meditative synth-lord Jimmy Lacy aka SiP played on one LP track, and will play a full live solo set. All will guest during Spiral Galaxy's performance, as well as others on the album, like avant improvisers Drazek Fuscaldo (Mako Sica), motorik country deity Lawrence Peters, and Plastic Crimewave Syndicate's Jose Bernal on percussion.
