Late Breakfast is proud to present an evening of genre cross-pollination. Qur’an Shaheed headlines the evening with a solo performance. She is preceded by Colombia’s sonic sculptor, haana lee. The night opens with Trellis, the ambient duo of Jesse Perlstein (Sontag Shogun, AxOxH) and Michael Robert Chadwick (Fake Sword, Plum Professional). ~ Qur'an Shaheed is an experimental pianist, poet, singer and songwriter based in Los Angeles, CA. Trained extensively in jazz, classical and contemporary music, her sound is innovative and personal, incorporating elements of improvisation as well as neo-classical and neo-soul techniques. Shaheed also composes film scores, focusing on projects that reflect on society, history and unifying acts. Following her EP Process on Preference Records, Shaheed has graced us with her debut full length album, Pulse, that “revels in the space between craftsmanship and creativity, bucking structure for improvisational freedom without sacrificing stylistic command” (Resident Advisor). Pulse was released in summer 2025 through Leaving Records and was featured in New York Times, BBC, UNCUT, and more. ~ haana lee explores the introspective and corporeal possibilities of sound, texture, and time as a musician and undisciplinary artist. When performing live, they primarily harvest sound from electric organs to then add layer upon layer of textures, improvising sound design with various hardware effects. The result is an intuitive and playful approach to the physical force of sound, expressed through micro polyrhythms and a pronounced stereo image. ~ Field Of Coincidence is the debut recording documenting the collaboration between LA-based artists Jesse Perlstein (Sontag Shogun, AxOxH) and Michael Robert Chadwick (Fake Sword, Plum Professional), aka Trellis. Although ambient in scope, these pieces employ pop structures, natural environmental recordings, and FX-laden sound design, to tell emotive stories in abstract auditory theatre. Between swarms of vocal layering and harmonic analog synthesizers, there's a timbral warmth to these tracks that feels refreshing in this AI-driven age of algorithm. Presented by Late Breakfast

Pehrspace and AKP Recordings present Lesley Mok and John Herndon. ∆ Lesley Mok is a New York City-based percussionist and sound artist. Their work is guided by a continual search for the connection between the mundane and the divine, the experience and manipulation of time, and a desire to capture emotional dissonance and complexity. In their debut solo EP, transient, Lesley combines drums and electronics to paint a landscape that explores the sculptural qualities of beat-making, ambience, and movement. Inspired by free jazz, noise, sounds from the natural environment, and artists like Autechre and Ryuichi Sakamoto, this record traverses a soundscape that goes from kinetic maximalism to delicate stillness, creating a listening experience that bends and warps time. John Herndon is an American musician and artist. Based in Chicago, he is a founding member of the post-rock band Tortoise, where he plays drums and percussion. Herndon also works as a producer for instrumental hip hop under the name A Grape Dope. Presented by pehrspace and AKP Recordings
