SummerStage in Central Park

Performers for this celebration of the label’s 70th anniversary include Samara Joy, a six-time GRAMMY winner and Bronx native, and Christian McBride, a world-class bassist and bandleader, a Juilliard graduate and 11-time GRAMMY winner who has recorded with legends of both the jazz (McCoy Tyner, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Wynton Marsalis, Eddie Palmieri, and more) and pop (Sting, Paul McCartney, Celine Dion) spheres. Also, Mei Semones, an American indie rock musician who writes jazz-influenced songs in both English and Japanese, has invited her own crew of friends including aron!, Liana Flores, and John Roseboro to perform music from Getz/Gilberto, the classic collaborative album by João Gilberto and Stan Getz released on Verve in 1964. Sparklmami will begin the show with a DJ set.

General Onsale: Friday, July 17 at 10AM Young Thug will be bringing The New Generation tour to SummerStage on Sunday, September 13, with support from NAV . The Atlanta-born rapper has been putting out hit songs like “Old English” and “Danny Glover” since bursting onto the scene and has collaborated with stars including J. Cole and Lil Wayne.

General onsale: Friday, July 10 at 10AM. The internationally acclaimed film and classical composer has enjoyed a longstanding partnership with Tim Burton, scoring films like Edward Scissorhands and Pee-wee’s Big Adventure . More recently, he’s returned to his legendary rock roots (formerly of new wave icon Oingo Boingo) with his album Big Mess and his forthcoming fall album, which he will bring to SummerStage.

Turning up the Volume on Climate Change & Tick-Borne Disease: This show is raising awareness about climate change and the resulting increase in tick-borne diseases, including in urban areas and city parks. Concert-goers will leave equipped to stay safe while enjoying the outdoors. Performing for the evening is multi-platinum Southern California rock band Young the Giant , known for their hit songs like “Cough Syrup” and “My Body.” Their sixth full-length album, Victory Garden , explores themes of resilience and connection, culminating their years of advocacy and music. The group has made environmental action a priority on the road, partnering with environmental nonprofit REVERB to reduce the impact of its tours by calculating its tour-related carbon footprint, supporting local climate and social nonprofits in the communities it visits, and contributing a portion of ticket proceeds to REVERB’s Climate Project Portfolio. Joining the bill is Jean-Philip Grobler and Patti Beranek’s alt-pop project St. Lucia , performing work from their album Dusk . This show has been rescheduled to Friday, September 18. Yeat’s latest album ADL (A Dangerous Lyfe / A Dangerous Love ), released just this past Friday, features an all-star list of collaborators ranging from Elton John to 070 Shake to Grimes, showcasing his talent for bringing together unique sounds and pushing the boundaries of his genre. Since 2018, he has gained a huge social media following and a loyal Gen Z fanbase in the process. Glokk40Spaz will support the evening.
