Late Breakfast is proud to present an evening of heady & diverse electronic music. Featuring IDM-informed sounds from LA’s own tp Dutchkiss & Minnesota’s deep glens, experimental compositions from strangejane, and prodigal son Stephen Lee Clark returns on visit from his new home of Chicago. ~ tp Dutchkiss is an Los Angeles based experimental electronic artist and producer. Dutchkiss disrupts the linearity of time within music, exploring, and recontextualizing movement through genres of IDM, left field dance, deconstructed techno, and ambient. His recent LP, High Functioning (2024, Leaving Records), draws inspirations from hisses, hums, and buzzes that are woven into irregular, yet tightly knit compositions. He has crafted art installations with the use of reel to reel tape machines that have been performed at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Hollyhock House, the Getty Museum, & the Los Angeles Public Library. Hartling is also a member of the band Harry the Nightgown, owner/operator of Wiggle World, a recording studio in Altadena, CA, and author of the zine Show Invisibles, or How to Make a Tape Loop. ~ deep glens is the electronic music project of producer and mixing/recording engineer Brett Bullion. This project is a return to Bullion’s early roots in experimental electronic music, and draws on formative influences such as Warp, Mego, Chain Reaction, and touch. Bullion recently joined Autechre on several dates of their 2025 North American tour after the legendary Warp duo featured multiple of deep glens songs on their BBC 6 music artist residency in December 2024. On his new album carver, Bullion explores a tape-based variation of William Burroughs’ "cut-up" technique. Hundreds of analog tape loops—spanning rhythm, harmony, and texture—were recorded, spliced, randomly selected, and shaped into compositions using speed manipulation, filtering, and other effects. Philosophically, the album reflects what it means to age as a finite human: the act of assembling meaning from fragments, carrying one's accumulated experience into the unknown, and creating something new from what's at hand. ~ strangejane is an evolving sonic persona of 신다인 / Jane Shin, a Korean multimedia artist and musician based in Los Angeles. A selection of their work is viewable at strangejane.com ~ Stephen Lee Clark (SLC) is a sound designer, re-recording mixer, audio/visual artist, and musician living and working in the \[Bay Area | Los Angeles | Chicago\]. Specializing in electronic hardware, software, and production, Stephen explores the textural aspects of sound in motion, and its relationship to space and silence. Continuously evolving, Stephen’s soundscapes and albums are an embodiment of the curiosity and fluidity that consistently drive and inform his journey through life and career.
