Lila Forde isn’t trying to sound like anyone else. She’s too busy becoming herself. With a voice steeped in jazz, soul, folk, and old-school American songcraft, the Seattle-born, Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter has always carried a deep sense of self through her music. But on Life Can Still Be Sweet, her sophomore album, that self comes into fuller focus: A little older, a little wiser, and more firmly in command of the world she’s building. Warm, whimsical, and full of growing pains, the record captures Forde in the thick of her twenties – learning lessons, finding her people, and holding onto beauty even when life gets hard Anna Ash writes songs of profound, startling, sensuous insight. Call it country, call it rock’n’roll, call it pulling off the road somewhere between Silver Lake and Bakersfield just to roll a cigarette, kick at the gravel, and brood. Michigan born, currently Los Angeles based, her music has been featured on the Showtime series’ Billions and Masters of Sex, as well as Freeform’s The Fosters, Epix’s Helter Skelter: An American Myth, and the Sundance premiered film Sunfish. Her 2022 album, Sleeper, received attention from No Depression, Americana UK, and BBC Radio Scotland, and placements on Spotify’s Fresh Finds, Torch and Twang, Noir, and Fresh Folk playlists. In 2013, her first album, These Holy Days, was released in Japan on Tugboat Records. Since then she's released four more full-length albums, and her version of Lucinda Williams' "Righteously" has amassed over 27 million streams. Her new album, Baby Blue, will be released in early 2027. Presented by Color Club.
