By the time eleventh dream day gets to The Hideout for what may be their only show this year, there will be a new record to celebrate, namely the double live “By the Time They Got to Lounge Ax” on Laughing Bee Records. The release is the first on a new label dedicated to the recordings of Adam Jacobs, and celebrates the special relationship the band had with Lounge Ax in the early nineties. What was going on in the early nineties? Well, eleventh dream day had left the indie rock life of sleeping on floors and cramming into the Ford Econoline for the bright lights promise of Atlantic Records. As Mike Watt said, If you weren’t playin’ you were payin’, and the band had honed it into a powerhouse stage experience. On the live record, the crowd, the energy, the sonic blast are all there. The band of today, Janet Bean, Douglas McCombs, Rick Rizzo, Mark Greenberg, and James Elkington have a pretty great thing going on The Hideout stage as well. But you already know that. See you there.
