BROOM — Broom is an independent experimental, ambient, and live improvised music project based in New York City PATEKA — A four-piece experimental rock group from the San Francisco Bay Area, Pateka’s genre-bending songwriting style draws on the close-knit bond of childhood friends Elihu Knowles (keyboards/vocals), Dylan Ransley (guitar), Quinn Girard (bass) and Ryan Higley (drums). The band, which is based in Richmond, creates a unique blend of synthesized sounds, samples, off-kilter grooves, and expansive, jazz-influenced harmonies. Pateka’s sound has been compared to a variety of artists, including Palm, Badbadnotgood, Sweet Trip, Mid Air Thief, Jon Bap, Sun Ra, Pulgas, Os Mutantes and Standing on the Corner. As a result, the songs feel like they’ve been assembled with all the intention and care of a mixtape to a high-stakes crush. Caleb Misclevitz, A.P. Fiedler, Derek McNeil, and Ellie Conroy round out the band, bringing the giant loud guitar rock feeling these songs require. The Portland outfit crafts songs big enough to fill an arena, while simultaneously conjuring the emotional intimacy of making out in the bathroom of your favorite karaoke bar. BORY — Listening to a Bory song is like stepping into a universe all its own, a kaleidoscopic journey filled to the brim with effortless hooks and guitar lines that get stuck inside your head for weeks on end. Following 2021’s Sidelined EP, songwriter Brenden Ramirez emerges onto the scene as a devout student of the pop song on Who’s A Good Boy, the long-awaited debut LP from Bory. Showcasing both Ramirez’s knack for a great melody as well as his versatility around the fretboard, Who’s A Good Boy is an absolute tour de force, an album where the lines separating dream pop, indie rock, and power pop are blurred to the point of being indistinguishable. Who’s A Good Boy is equal parts scrappy and starry-eyed in its sonic makeup. Album opener “The Flake” sets the stage with fuzzy guitars crashing in and Ramirez’s relaxed vocals placed front and center, as a result, the track feels like throwing on a warm blanket. Their raw, honest, and authentic listening experience is a welcome middle finger to modern country, offering up a brand of smoke-filled honky-tonk that's traditional as they come -- albeit delivered with a fiery, punk disposition. Lead singer Cindy Emch, sometimes known as the 'First Lady of Queer Country' is known for her distinct voice and ability to blend Americana, California Country, Hellbilly, Goth, and Honky Tonk, spinning radically distinctive tales from her singular perspective. NoDepression says "One could describe Emch as if Nick Cave had grown up in Bakersfield with a dynamic swagger that could part the Red Sea." ASHLEIGH FLYNN & THE RIVETERS — West Coast-based, Americana rock n roll band, Ashleigh Flynn & The Riveters released their new album "Good Morning, Sunshine" on April 4th, 2025, and are taking their collection of new songs on the road. Recently signed to LA-based, Blackbird Record Label, the all-female band finds joy and connection with music fans via their energized live show and ability to “shred as well as the boys do.” ​ Technical musical skills aside, there are compelling layers throughout Flynn’s seasoned songwriting that shed light on the human corners of darkness and in turn, uplift listeners in the same way her favorite artists have done for her. Some of those heroes Flynn has had the opportunity to share the stage with, such as Willie Nelson, Todd Snider, The Wood Brothers, Hayes Carll, Amy Ray, and Nanci Griffith. Flynn grew up primarily around the South in Kentucky and Virginia, cutting her musical teeth on bluegrass, Motown and rock n roll.
