Hunters of the Alps La Zorra Zapata Sonora Tukukuy HUNTERS OF THE ALPS Miami-via-Lima project of Peruvian-American artist Mario Giancarlo — a songwriter, producer, and vinyl DJ whose music threads new wave, baroque pop, and tropi-goth into something quietly singular. Praised by Rolling Stone en Español and rooted in over 15 years of deep-crate vinyl excavation (Peruvian psychedelic cumbia is his specialty), HOTA brings both a live band set and DJ sensibility to the Sounds From Peru stage. Think: The Cure and Caifanes raised on chicha. LA ZORRA ZAPATA Lima-born, Mexico City-based singer-songwriter Nuria Zapata performs as La Zorra Zapata — an artist whose music dissolves the line between intimacy and cinema. Armed with a loop station, she builds layered vocal landscapes in real time, stacking breath, texture, and melody into something that sounds like it was years in the making. With three critically acclaimed albums to her name and an album of covers (I Love You Baby, COSMICA Artists) out now, she arrives at Zebulon fresh off opening for Mitski at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City and an official showcase selection at BIME. La Zorra Zapata is the rare artist who makes experimental music feel deeply personal. SONORA TUKUKUY Miami's most exciting cumbia collective, Sonora Tukukuy is a band of musicians who carry decades of independent music history in their DNA — with roots spanning Peru, Venezuela, Colombia, and Argentina. They honor the golden era of Amazonian and Andean cumbia with a sound that's funky, gritty, and forward-looking all at once. Their debut album Brave New Cumbia is out in 2026, and live, they are the kind of band that makes a room move whether it wants to or not. Presented by Zebulon.
