CARNIVOROUS BELLS Philly tension rockers. A combustible menace. Misfits who used the raw ferocitv of hardcore to explore more adventurous territories. whether it be Saccharine Trust’s dissonant jazz leanings, Spike in Vain’s blearv chords/ blearv rantings, October File-era Die Kreuzen’s adoption of melodv while still retaining the scathing vocals. or Your Food’s high energy, spatially deep post punk. And hey, Carnivorous Bels shares some common DNA with all of them! MESH Philly rockers that sound like a long lost pre-hardcore punk band circa sweet-spot 1980-1981 British or middle of nowhere Midwest gem, making songs well informed of the first 1977 punk wave but without leaning into the more aggressive sonic sides.
