Official release party for the new full-length folk rock album from Aaron Tinjum and the Tangents: “Precious Time.” Aaron Tinjum is a Minnesota-based singer-songwriter. He formed his folk rock project, Aaron Tinjum and the Tangents, while playing the many coffeehouses, dive bars, used clothing stores and furniture shops of the Live Music Capital of the World, Austin, Texas. In 2012, they released their debut “Mirrors in the Dark” EP and were subsequently honored by the Austin Mayor and City Council with their own official band holiday. After a stint in Washington, D.C., Tinjum returned to Minnesota and released his “Zinger” EP during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. “Precious Time” is the Tinjum’s most ambitious and expansive entry to date, ranging from folk to blues, New Orleans jazz to bluegrass, alternative to country. He has opened for a number of national touring acts, including Sam Amidon, James McCartney, Reeve Carney and Kawehi. ———— David Booth’s music works the familiar literary veins of love, railroads, and the culinary arts, with musical grooves from Nashville to Plaquemines Parish to Austin to Abbey Road. These are songs from a person in “the middle of life’s way” — and by turns they offer consolation, comfort, righteous indignation, and wry commentary on life’s strange scenes
